Procedure

A mixture of 64 g of the product of Stage D, 650 ml of toluene and 59 g of triphenylphosphine was refluxed for 2 hours 30 minutes and the reaction mixture was allowed to return to ambient temperature, then separated, washed with toluene and with isopropyl ether and dried to obtain 88 g of the desired product.
