Allylmagnesium chloride (2 mol/L in tetrahydrofuran, 17.0 mL) is added to a solution of 2-methyl-propane-2-sulfinic acid (1,4-dioxa-spiro[4.5]dec-8-ylidene)-amide (7.0 g) in tetrahydrofuran (70 mL) cooled to −78° C. The resulting solution is stirred with cooling for 3 h and then quenched by the addition of 10% aqueous NH4Cl solution.
