Procedure

Indolin-2-one (80 mg, 0.60 mmol), 1H-benzo[d]imidazole-5-carbaldehyde (97 mg, 0.66 mmol) and piperidine (2 drops) in EtOH (2 mL) were heated with stirring in a sealed tube under microwave irradiation at 90° C. for 15 min. A yellow precipitate was filtered and rinsed with EtOH. Recrystallization from EtOH afforded the title compound as a yellow powder (15.5 mg, 10%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 12.71 (br. s., 1H), 10.59 (s, 1H), 8.35 (s, 1H), 7.99 (s, 1H), 7.78 (s, 1H), 7.65-7.75 (m, 2H), 7.59 (d, J=8.34 Hz, 1H), 7.22 (t, J=7.58 Hz, 1H), 6.82-6.91 (m, 2H); MS ESI [M+H]+ 262.0, calcd for [C16H11N3O+H]+ 262.3.
