The title compound was prepared from tert-butyl[3-(bromomethyl)phenyl]carbamate (0.42 g, 1.48 mmol) and methyl 1-oxo-1,2-dihydroisoquinoline-7-carboxylate (0.20 g, 0.98 mmol) following the procedure outlined in Example 3, step 1 (0.31 g, 77%). LC-MS: (FA) ES+ 409.
