Procedure
A solution of (9H-fluoren-9-yl)methyl 9-bromo-3-methyl-6-oxo-3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrazino[2,1-b]quinazoline-2(6H)-carboxylate (2 g, 3.9 mmol, 1 equiv) and piperidine (4 mL) in DCM (50 mL) was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was then diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×100 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4. After filtration and concentration, the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography to give the desired product.
