A mixed solution of tert-butyl 4-[(Z)-{4-[(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropyl)amino]-2-oxo-1,3-thiazol-5(2H)-ylidene}methyl]piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.93 g) and 4M hydrogen chloride/ethyl acetate solution (20 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (1.70 g).
