Procedure

To a solution of 4-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one (2.0 g) in ethanol (20 mL) was added 3-aminopropane-1,2-diol (1.00 g), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hr. The precipitate was collected by filtration and washed with ethanol to give the title compound (1.56 g).
