To a solution of tert-butyl 2-(3-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)ethylcarbamate (34 mg, 118 μmol) in dioxane (1 mL) was added hydrochloric acid (4M in dioxane, 590 μl, 2.36 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 18 h. All volatiles were removed in vacuo and the product was dried to yield a white solid (38 mg, 116 μmol, 98.7%) that was used without additional purification. MS: =189.3 M+H)+
