The title compound is prepared from (S)-5-(4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-2-methyl-2-piperidin-4-yl-2,3-dihydro-furo[2,3-c]pyridine (Intermediate 32; the configuration of the stereocenter is arbitrarily assigned) and 2-chloro-5-ethylpyrimidine in dimethylsulfoxide at 105° C. in the presence of potassium carbonate. LC (method 4): tR=1.09 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=479 [M+H]+.
