Reaction Steps

(S)-tert-Butyl 1-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-3,3-dimethyl-1-oxobutan-2-ylcarbamate was treated overnight with trifluoroacetic acid in methylene chloride. The solution was concentrated to give the title compound without further purification.
