(S)-methyl 2-amino-6-(3-oxocyclobutanecarboxamido)hexanoate (0.297 g) and 18 mL H2O were put in a 40 mL glass vial. To the resulting clear solution was added 2.2 mL 1N NH4OH, and the reaction was shaken at ambient temperature for 22 hours, at which time the LCMS analysis revealed a complete reaction. The reaction mixture was frozen and lyophilized, affording (S)-2-amino-6-(3-oxocyclobutanecarboxamido)hexanoic acid (TU3205-030) as colorless crystals. MS (ESI+): m/z 243.20 (MH+).
