A mixture of 5-bromo-3-(4-morpholinylsulfonyl)-2-pyridinamine (0.296 g, 0.92 mmol), 4-(4-pyridinyl)-6-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)quinoline (0.306 mg, 0.92 mmol), [1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ferrocene]dichloropalladium(II)-complex with dichloromethane (1:1) (37.6 mg, 0.046 mmol), 2 M aqueous K2CO3 (5 mL) and dioxane (5 mL) was heated at 100° C. for 18 h. After cooling to room temperature, the organic layer was separated and the aqueous portion extracted three times with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified twice by silica gel chromatography (eluent: i) 1-5% MeOH in CH2Cl2 and ii) 0-20% MeOH in CH2Cl2) to provide the title compound as a white solid (150 mg, 37% yield). MS(ES)+ m/e 448.0 [M+H]+.
