5-amino-4,6-dichloropyrimidine (5.0 g, 30.49 mmol) and 4-chloroaniline (5.1 g, 40.0 mmol) were added to the solution of hydrochloric acid (1.3 mL, 15.24 mmol) in EtOH/H2O (8:1 v/v) (100 ml). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred for overnight at 80° C. The resulting mixture was filtered with NaHCO3(aq)/H2O. The collected solid was dried under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (6.8 g, 88%) as white solid.
