To a solution of tert-butyl 4-((5-(2-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)propan-2-yl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)methoxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (101 mg, 0.18 mmol) in DCM (2 mL) at 0° C. was added TFA (0.2 mL). After stirring at room temperature for 2 h, the reaction mixture was diluted with DCM, washed with satd NaHCO3 and brine, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo to give 4-((5-(2-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)propan-2-yl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)methoxy)piperidine as a white solid that was used directly for the next step.
