Following the general procedure using 1-iodo-2-methoxynaphthalene (142 mg, 0.50 mmol) and 2,4-dimethylstyrene (132 μL, 1.0 mmol), the reaction was stirred for 12 h at rt. Column chromatography on silica gel (eluting with 5% EtOAc/hexanes) afforded the product as a tan semi-solid (137 mg, 95%).
