{3,5-Dimethyl-1-[4-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenylsulfanylmethyl)-benzyl]-1H-pyrazol-4-yl}-acetic acid methyl ester (intermediate 16.1.3, 170 mg, 0.38 mmol) was dissolved in 3 ml dichloromethane and 3-chloroperbenzoic acid (79 mg, 0.45 mmol) was added at 5° C. After 1 h at that temperature, the mixture was diluted with dichloromethane and washed with aqueous NaHCO3 solution. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure.
