Reaction Steps
22.4 g (0.05 mol) of 2-acetylamino-4-tert-butyl-5-hexadecyloxyphenol was added to a mixture composed of 50 ml of hydrochloric acid and 150 ml of ethanol and the mixture was stirred with heating at a temperature of 80° C. for 2 hours. after cooling, the crystals deposited were collected by filtration washed with ethanol to obtain 17.9 g of 2-amino-4-tert-butyl-5-hexadecyloxyphenol hydrochloride [1-a].
