400 mg (0.845 mmol) 8-(11-Oxo-6,11-dihydro-dibenzo[b,e]oxepin-2 yloxy)-octanoic acid benzyloxyamide in 50 ml methanol was hydrogenated in the presence of palladium on calcium carbonate at ambient temperature and pressure. The catalyst was removed by filtration and the solvent was evaporated. The residue was purified by column chromatography (methanol/water 75:25). There was thus obtained 90 mg (28%) of the title compound as an amorphous solid. MS: 382 (M−H+); 384 (M+H+).
