Procedure
9-(5-Acetoxymethyltetrahydropyran-2-yl)-N2 -acetylguanine (80 mg) was dissolved in dried methanol, and catalytic amount of sodium methoxide was added thereto. After stirring at room temperature overnight, the mixture was neutralized with methanolic hydrochloric acid and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified on a silica gel column (eluent: chloroform/methanol=7/1) to obtain the desired product (45 mg, 73%) as pale gray solid.
