Procedure
22.5 parts of N,N-dipropoxy-m-aminophenol were charged to a reactor vessel followed by 22.0 parts of-acetic anhydride and 0.5 parts of 1-methylimidazole. The mixture was then heated to about 130 to 140° C. and held for 3 hours. The acetic acid and excess anhydride were then distilled out at a temperature from 130 to 140° C. leaving the N,N-dipropoxy-m-aminophenol diacetate product.
Workup
- distillationThe acetic acid and excess anhydride were then distilled out at a temperature from 130 to 140° C.
