Reaction Steps
1-acetyl-3-[1-hydroxy-1-(4-bromo-phenyl)methylidene}-2-indolinone and 2 equivalents of PCl5 are heated in toluene for 1 hour at 100° C. The mixture is filtered, evaporated down in vacuo and petroleum ether is added to the oily evaporation residue.
