Procedure
Methane sulphonyl chloride (0.5 mL, 6.43 mmol) was added to a solution of 1-(diphenylmethyl)-3-hydroxyazetidine (1.38 g, 5.77 mmol) and Et3N (0.9 mL, 6.46 mmol) in toluene (10 mL) at 0° C. The reaction mixture was stirred and warmed to room temperature overnight. The mixture was quenched with H2O (100 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (100 mL). The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give pale yellow oil (756 mg, 41%) which was used without further purification.
