A solution of tert-butyl{1-[2-(7-methoxy-2-oxo-2H-3,1-benzoxazin-1(4H)-yl)ethyl]piperidin-4-yl}carbamate (Intermediate 107) (319 mg, 0.78 mmol) in dichloromethane (8 mL) was treated at room temperature under vigorous stirring with a trifluoroacetic acid (0.75 mL, 10 mmol). After 2 hours, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give 324 mg (quantitative) of product as a brown oil.
