6,7-Difluoroquinoxalin-2(1H)-one (Intermediate 152, 1.0 g, 5.50 mmol) was deprotonated with sodium hydride (60% in oil, 0.26 g, 6.60 mmol) and alkylated with 2-{4-[(tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino]piperidin-1-yl}ethyl methanesulfonate (Intermediate 6) (6.6 mmol) as described for Intermediate 2. Chromatography on silica gel with 5% toluene/ethyl acetate gave 500 mg (23%) of the product as a colorless solid.
