tert-Butyl{1-[2-(6,7-dimethoxy-2-oxoquinoxalin-1(2H)-yl)ethyl]piperidin-4-yl}carbamate (Intermediate 157, 100 mg, 0.23 mmol) was reacted with trifluoroacetic acid in dichloromethane as described for Intermediate 140 to give 75 mg (quantitative) of the crude product as an oil.
