3c was synthesised by an analogous procedure to that described for 3a using 2c (1 g, 2.53 mmol) and CrCl3(THF)3 (0.95 g, 2.53 mmol). Yield 1.00 g (71%). Anal. Calc. for C25H25Cl3CrN5 (in %): C, 54.21; H, 4.55; N, 12.64%. Found C, 54.32; H, 4.79; N, 12.50. IR (KBr, cm−1), υ 3231 (NH, s), υ 1622 (ArC═C, C═N, m), δ 1454, 1477, 1498 (N—H, s, m), υ 1274 (CN, m), δ 752 (CH, s). +FAB-MS: (m/z): 517 ([M-Cl]), 482 ([M-2Cl]+). μeff·=3.87 MB.
