3b was synthesised by an analogous procedure to that described for 3a using 2e (1 g, 2.8 mmol) and CrCl3(THF)3 (1.05 g, 2.8 mmol). Yield 1.35 g, 93%. Anal. Calc. for C22H27Cl3CrN5 (in %): C, 50.83; H, 5.24; N, 13.47. Found C, 51.05; H, 5.30; N, 13.38. IR (KBr, cm−1), υ 3502 (NH, m), υ 1621-1527 (ArC═C, C═N, m), δ 1498, 1477, 1431 (N—H, s), υ 1273 (CN, m), δ 751 (CH, s). +FAB-MS: (m/z): 483 ([M-Cl]+), 448 ([M-2Cl]).
