To 0.50 g of L-leucine-L-leucine, under argon, is added, via a syringe, 10 ml of methyl alcohol and 0.610 ml of trimethylsilyl chloride. The reaction is stirred overnight at room temperature. The mixture is concentrated in vacuo to give 0.554 g of the desired product.
