Procedure

The procedure was as described in Example 1, but a blend of 40.5 g (0.525 mol) ammonium acetate and 23 g (0.5 mol) formic acid was reacted with 55 g (0.25 mol) P4O6. 45 g 1-aminoethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid was obtained.
