Procedure

Ethyl 2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-n-octyloxyiminoacetate (syn isomer, 64 g.), 2N-aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (196 ml.), methanol (196 ml.) and tetrahydrofuran (300 ml.) were treated in a similar manner to that of Example F-(4) to give 2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-n-octyloxyiminoacetic acid (syn isomer, 52.5 g.), mp. 146° C. (dec.).
