Using 0.2 g of the crude 1-(4-hydroxybutyl)-5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole and 2 ml of 2-cyanoethylphosphoric acid pyridinium salt solution (1 mmol/ml) as the starting substances, according to the same processes as in Example 1, 0.3 g of crude 4-(5,6-dimethylbenzimidazolyl)butylphosphoric acid was obtained.
