A mixture of 2-amino-3-(2,6-difluorobenzyloxy)pyridine (4.72 g, 20 mmol) and ethyl 2methylphenylacetimidate hydrochloride (4.69 g, 22 mmol) in ethanol (80 ml) was heated under reflux for 2 hours. Evaporation of the solvent gave art oil which was purified by flash chromatography (chloroform/methanol) to obtain the product (0.18 g), m.p. 127°-135° C.
