Reaction Steps
7-phosphonomethyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-2-carboxylic acid 20 (8 mg) was introduced in a Parr bottle with 0.5N HCl (2 mL), water (10 mL) and Pd on Carbon (5%, 10 mg). The bottle was evacuated, filled with hydrogen (55 psi) and shaken for 1.5 hours at room temperature. The reduction mixture was then poured onto a strongly basic ion-exchange column (OH--, Amberlite). The product was eluted with IN HCl.
