Reaction Steps
26.5 g (0.11 mol) of the compound from Example III were dissolved in 400 ml of methylene chloride and the mixture was boiled under reflux with 50 g of manganese dioxide (active) overnight. After cooling, the solid was filtered off with suction and the filtrate was concentrated. Yield: 25 g (85% of theory) M.p.: 127°-128° C.
