Procedure

6,7-Dihydro-5-dimethylaminomethyl-3-phenyl- 1,2-benzisoxazol-4(5H)-one hydrochloride (0.80 g) was warmed with 5 ml of piperidine (4.31 g) at 90° C. for 20 minutes. The excess piperidine was removed in vacuo and the hydrochloride was formed in ethereal HCl to give 0.95 g of 6,7-dihydro-5-(1-piperidinylmethyl)-3-phenyl-1,2-benzisoxazol-4(5H)-one hydrochloride hemihydrate, m.p. 182°-1830° C.

Workup

  1. customThe excess piperidine was removed in vacuo
