Procedure

20 g of 3-chloro-4-chloromethylsulfonyloxy-phenylisocyanate (alternative name: chloromethanesulfonic acid 2-chloro-4-isocyanato-phenyl ester) were dissolved in 100 ml of acetone and 10 ml of a 45% strength dimethylamine solution were added, whilst cooling. After addition of water, N-(3-chloro-4-chloromethylsulfonyloxy-phenyl)-N,N'-dimethylurea precipitated: it was filtered off and dried.
