Using the method described in Example I, 35 g (0.13 mole) of diethyl (3-tert.-butyl-isoxazol-5-yl)methanephosphonate and 23 g (0.13 mole) of o-(1-methoxy-ethoxy)-benzaldehyde are reacted and the product is recrystallized from toluene. 24.8 g (78% of theory) of colorless crystals, of melting point 152°-155° C., are obtained.
