150 ml of methyl ethyl ketone and 22 g of N-(aminoethyl)-piperidine were introduced into a 500 ml balloon flask provided with an agitator and a thermometer. The mixture was cooled and then a suspension of 35 g of 7-chloro-1,4-benzodioxane-5-carbonyl chloride in 200 ml of methyl ethyl ketone was added at a temperature of from 15°-20° C. After agitation the crystals formed were dried off and then washed with methyl ethyl ketone. 35 g of N-[piperidino ethyl]-7-chloro-1,4-benzodioxane-5-carboxamide hydrochloride was produced (M.P.: 192° C.; yield: 64.5%).
