To a stirred solution of 78.5A (0.50 g, 1.5 mmol) in EtOAc (2.00 mL) at 23° C. was added palladium on carbon (0.16 g, 1.5 mmol). The reaction was placed under an atmosphere of hydrogen and stirred for 19 hours. The reaction mixture was then filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The product was purified on silica gel (0-10% EtOAc in hexanes) to yield 78.5B as a colorless oil (0.50 g, 99% yield).
