Reaction Steps
A suspension of 5.00 g of 3-methoxy phenol, 10.0 g of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl iodide and 20.0 g of cesium carbonate in DMF (15 ml) was stirred at 80° C. for two hours. The solution was added with water and extracted with Et2O; the organic layer was washed in saturated brine, then, was dried in MgSO4, the drying agent was separated by filtration and solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure obtained 6.60 g of the title compound.
