Procedure
Acetic acid (4-{[2-(4-cyano-benzyloxycarbamoyl)phenylamino]-methyl}-pyridin-2-ylcarbamoyl)-methyl ester (Example 537, 52 mg) was suspended in methanol (2 ml) and 2M aqueous sodium hydroxide (1 ml) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 10 minutes. The pH of the mixture was adjusted to 7 by addition of 2M hydrochloric acid. The resulting precipitate was isolated by filtration and dried in vacuo, affording the title compound. 13C-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 171.2, 167.5, 151.7, 151.3, 148.6, 148.1, 141.9, 132.8, 132.3, 129.3, 128.1, 118.8, 118.1, 114.9, 113.0, 111.6, 111.0, 110.9, 76.1, 61.6, 45.4.
