A 0° C. solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-((6-methoxy-2-methylpyridin-3-yl)methyl)benzylidene)piperidine-1-carboxylate (0.186 g, 0.487 mmol) dichloromethane (3 mL) was treated with trifluoroacetic acid (0.693 mL, 9.74 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. The solution was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the crude title compound (0.15 g).
