4-{2-[3-(3-Dimethylamino-benzoylamino)-phenyl]-oxazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-5-ylmethyl}-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (25 mg, 0.045 mmol) was dissolved in 1 mL of 25% TFA in CH2Cl2 and allowed to stand at room temperature for 1 hour. It was then concentrated and the resulting residue was triturated with Et2O to afford essentially quantitative yield of 3-dimethylamino-N-[3-(5-piperazin-1-ylmethyl-oxazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-yl)-phenyl]-benzamide as the TFA salt.
