Procedure

A 4 N solution of HCl in 1,4-dioxane (1.7 ml, 7.1 mmol) was added to a stirring solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl [2-({4-[4-(3-{[(2,5-difluorophenyl)sulfonyl]amino}-2-fluorophenyl)-2-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-1,3-thiazol-5-yl]-2-pyrimidinyl}amino)ethyl]carbamate (0.31 g, 0.47 mmol) (composite batches prepared as described in the previous step) in DCM (10 ml) at rt. MeOH (1 ml) was added to aid in solubility. The reaction was allowed to stir at rt for 3 h. The volatiles were removed and the residue was dried in vacuo to afford the title compound of Step B (0.31 g, quantitative yield) as a hydrochloride salt that was used without further purification; 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 10.77 (s, 1H), 7.93-8.18 (m, 4H), 7.20-7.69 (m, 7H), 3.37-3.53 (m, 2H), 2.96 (d, J=5.1 Hz, 2H), 1.41 (s, 9H). MS (ES+): 563 [M+H]+.
