The following are introduced into a 25 ml round-bottomed flask, in order: 11-(1-pyrrolyl)undecan-1-oic acid (2 mmol; 503 mg), of N-hydroxysulphosuccinimide (2 mmol; 434 mg) and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) (2.4 mmol; 495 mg). 10 ml of dimethylformamide (DMF) are subsequently added. A cloudy mixture is obtained, which is subjected to magnetic stirring overnight.
