Procedure
1,4-Dioxane (5.4 mL) and potassium carbonate (770 mg, 5.60 mmol) were added to (S)—N-[(pyrrolidin-2-yl)methyl]-4,6-dichloro-2-methylthiopyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid amide hydrochloride (100 mg, 0.280 mmol) obtained in Reference Example 8, and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 2 hours. The mixture was filtered through sellite, and the residue was washed with chloroform. After concentrating the filtrate under reduced pressure, the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give (S)-7-chloro-9-methylthio-1,2,3,3a,4,5-hexahydro-5,8,10,10b-tetraazabenzo[e]azulen-6-one (10.6 mg, 13%).
