A mixture of methyl 2-{[2-methyl-6-oxo-5-{[2′-(5-oxo-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl}-4-propylpyrimidin-1(6H)-yl]methyl}benzoate (0.28 g), 2 N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (5 mL) and methanol (5 mL) was stirred at 50° C. for 3 hr. The reaction mixture was adjusted to pH 4 with water (20 mL) and 1 M hydrochloric acid, and the obtained crystallized product was collected by filtration to give the title compound as colorless crystals (0.22 g, 80%).
