Reaction Steps
A solution of 6-fluoro-2-methylquinoline-4-carboxylic acid (500 mg) and PCl5 (500 mg) in dichloromethane (10 mL) was refluxed for half an hour. Then dichloromethane and POCl3 were removed under reduced pressure to give 6-fluoro-2-methylquinoline-4-carbonyl chloride.
