4′-[4-(1,1-Dioxo-1lambda*6*-thiomorpholin-4-ylmethyl)-phenylcarbamoyl]-6-methyl-biphenyl-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester (1.09 g) was heated to reflux in 1M sodium hydroxide (20 ml) and THF (20 ml) for 3 h. The mixture was then allowed to cool, and the THF evaporated. The aqueous residue was extracted with dichloromethane, and was then acidified. The resultant white solid was collected by filtration and dried (950 mg).
