Reaction Steps
5.6 g. of 5-chloro-8-ethyl-8H-pyrazolo[4',3':5,6]pyrido[3,4-e][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (0.02 mol.) are dissolved in 100 ml. of dimethylformamide. 2 g. of powdered sodium sulfide are added and the mixture is stirred for 1 hour. After this time, the solution is carefully acidifed with acetic acid. 8-Ethyl-8H-pyrazolo[3',4':5,6]pyrido[3,4-e][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-5-thiol precipitates and is filtered off.
